Hamburg

all about the Elbphilharmonie!

Hamburg is for sure the city we mostly visited the past 20 years!

We love this compact and very clean German City with that very special feeling around the river Elbe. Along Hafencity  you'll find many new restaurants and hotel openings every year.

The Sir Nikolai is a brand new boutique hotel and it's restaurant Izakaya a great location for an excellent asian dinner.

Of course after finally finished, you must absolutely visit the Elbphilharmonie where you can enjoy a fantastic view over the city and the Elbe.

Yes, the natives of Hamburg were quite upset during the construction phase of the Elbphilharmonie. This because the previous budget of 77 Million Euro finally reached a total coast of 866 Million Euro.  But right after the opening thousands of people wanted to see this fantastic Masterpiece. To see a concert it's recommended to order tickets a long time ahead.

Tips for To Dos and recommended activities
  • go shopping along the Mönckebergstrasse up to Jungfernstieg and all the Arcades

IZAKAYA at Hotel Sir Nikolai

Those fascinated by innovative culinary concepts have a new place to get together at a fantastic location directly by the Nikolaifleet canal. Izakaya presents modern Japanese cuisine with South American influences – it’s an outstanding shared-dining concept. Izakaya is located on the ground floor of the new boutique hotel Sir Nikolai. Upon entering, the eye is drawn subtly to the restaurant towards the back of the former kontor building, where the brushed steel ceiling takes on a flowing, water-like form making guests feel as though they were gently floating.

Coast by East

The coast is located in the heart of the HafenCity. Close to the cruise ship terminal and boasting an unobstructed view of the Elbphilharmonie is the coast - Seafood, Grill & Bar, located at the HafenCity's Marco Polo Terrassen. The coast introduces elements of the east, the award-winning design hotel and restaurant near the Reeperbahn, to the HafenCity. Enjoy balanced and healthy Asian food in an exceptional atmosphere with a view at the "Elbphilharmonie" at coast by east HafenCity. On the floor below, you'll find coast enoteca which, as with the hotel, is also open all year round.

Brian's Steak & Lobster

this is a great easy going restaurant in a Californian style. The Interior is all from Riviera Maison and the waiters wear mostly beards!

If you feel like eating lobster or having a burger...everything is prepared in a Josper Stove and smells smoky and tasty
